WHAT TO EXPECT

A WARM WELCOME BUT DON'T PANIC, THERE'S NO COMPULSION TO TAKE PART IN ANYTHING

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Come in your usual casual clothes and you will fit right in.

WILL I HAVE TO SING?

No, we won't mind if you'd rather just listen! Many of us love to express ourselves to God through songs, and there will be a mixture of well-known hymns and recently written songs in each service. Words are provided, and you can sing along if you feel comfortable. But don't worry - even the most devoted Christians don't always feel like singing.

DO I NEED TO MAKE A DONATION?

We have collection points towards the back of our sites. This is an opportunity for our regular congregation members to give financially to the church in worship of God. If you are new or a visitor to CCW4 please know that you are not expected to give!

WHAT WILL THE SERVICE INCLUDE?

As well as songs, there will be prayers to listen to and join in silently, a talk about some aspect of the Bible or Christian living, and an opportunity, if you wish, to come and be prayed for - many people are healed physically or emotionally by God when they ask for a brief one-to-one prayer with someone after the service.

HOW LONG WILL THE SERVICE LAST?

Each service lasts between 1 and 1 ½ hours (including a talk of 20 minutes), and we serve free tea, coffee and biscuits afterwards.

WHAT IS COMMUNION?

Holy Communion involves the sharing of bread and wine. Throughout the month our services will also include a "Holy Communion" ceremony. The bread and wine are symbols to remind us of God's incredible love and care for us, shown in the life and death of his son Jesus. You are welcome to take part if you are a baptised Christian from any church. Otherwise feel free to watch, or to come forward for a blessing instead of the bread and wine.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN TO STAND, SIT, KNEEL?

We usually stand to sing and sit at other times in the service, unless the minister says to do something different. You can kneel when you pray, but you don't have to. If in doubt, follow everyone else - that's what we do if we're not sure!

IS IT OK IF I DON'T BELIEVE A WORD OF IT?

Absolutely. Come along just to see what it's like; you will not be bludgeoned into saying things you don't mean or making any commitment you're not ready for. If you want to discuss the faith in more depth, consider coming on a free Alpha Course; these run at intervals through the year.

DUE TO COVID SOME THINGS ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT TO NORMAL

Expect a warm welcome, but don't panic there's no compulsion to take part in anything you aren't comfortable with.

SUNDAY

YOUTH
WEDNESDAYS 12:00 NOON
CHRIST CHURCH TURNHAM GREEN

A reflective 45 minute Holy Communion service that provides a few moments of peace in the middle of the week. The gathering includes a relevant talk from a book of the Bible, prayers and time to reflect.

Due to COVID regulations we have decided not to  hold this service for the time being, check back soon for updates.

Our midweek groups are at the heart of community life here at Christ Church W4 and a key part of how we grow into disciple-making disciples. They are a great place to make friends, meet God and learn to live life better.

Due to COVID we are currently not able to meet in homes so groups are meeting online. If you sign up for a group at this time, a group leader will be in contact with the details you need to join the group virtually.

It's really easy finding a group and there is no expectation to commit!

Come along and see if the 6pm could be your service. The 6pm is always at Christ Church Turnham Green.
