OUR VISION

To be a prophetic movement of disciple making disciples
joining God in transforming Chiswick, London and the world

We long to see...

Local people confident that they are loved, accepted and valued by the living God, their Father.

Our buildings blessing the whole community with space to meet God, make friends and live life better.

Our people as a movement of God equipped to follow Jesus Monday-Sunday at home and in the workplace.

Children and young people living life in all its fullness and ministering to the whole church family.

Jesus being worshipped in Spirit and in truth by people of all ages and backgrounds.

God getting all the glory for all he enables us to become and do.

The world changed because we did small things well in partnership with all his children

We long to be...

Having and knowing the good news of Jesus means we like to party (see also Luke 15!) Whether bouncy castles in church for the kids or a Pimm's bar on the green during the Jubilee celebrations we think that the Christian life is to be enjoyed as ‘life in all its fulness’.

We want to be good news for all the community.

Jesus taught from the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament), was the subject of the Gospels and inspired the writing of the rest of the New Testament. He taught that all the Bible points to him and is about him.

We base our teaching and ministry on the inspired Word of God.

The message Jesus begins with builds on his predecessor John the Baptist's ministry and is the same message he gives to his disciples (cf Mark 6:12). “Repent and believe the good news” because the rule of God (Kingdom of God) is here. We are realistic that we need to change our ways of thinking and actions (repent) to live God’s way.

We need to repent and believe the good news.

John the Baptist knew that he needed to decrease in profile and popularity and Jesus needed to increase, so we are learning that we can do nothing of eternal value without God.

We want to get better at giving all the credit to him.

Not some bizarre 'use the force' Star Wars concept! This is what Jesus needed before starting his ministry and what every follower of Jesus needs to live life better. Jesus promised to give the Holy Spirit without limit to every follower of his who asks for him to be in their lives. The Holy Spirit has been called 'God's empowering Presence'.

We need to learn to depend of God's power at work in us and keep getting filled up.

In an age of fatherlessness we have an increasing need to know that we are personally loved, accepted and valued by our heavenly Father. Although fathering may be a difficult topic for many it would be tragic to miss the beautiful revelation Jesus gives of God as ‘abba’ [literally ‘Daddy’].

Our own sense of security, significance and acceptance should stem from our relationship with our loving Father through Christ.

As he walked by Galilee Jesus invited the first disciples and said 'Come follow me'. We know that we have a purpose because in the same way Jesus has called us.

There may be trials in life but we’ve read the end of the book!

God has an agenda for our lives to make us whole in body, mind, heart and spirit. Some wholeness may not come this side of death but we can pray for the ‘Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven’ right now.

We can expect to see change happen.

Jesus upset people who valued religion over relationship and the work God was doing in people. When God is doing something it is often messy.

We want to join in whatever God is doing and follow him wherever he goes.
