What is The Shelter Project?
The Shelter Project Hounslow is a joint churches initiative running winter night shelters for homeless men in the coldest months. Christ Church W4 will host homeless guests once per week from December to March, providing a warm place to spend the night and have food.

How can I get involved?
If you are interested in volunteering a Monday evening or early Tuesday morning during the current season (December 2017–March 2018), please email Peter Williams for more information or to sign up. Even one-off help would be very much appreciated.

The Shelter Project Hounslow wins Queen's Award

I am delighted to let you that The Shelter Project Hounslow has won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2017. This is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in their communities. It is the MBE for voluntary groups. The awards were created in 2002 to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and winners are announced each year on the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

This award has been made possible by all the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.  I would like to give thanks and pay tribute to all who have worked together to provide a friendly and caring atmosphere; welcoming our guests, giving them respect and dignity as well as food and a bed.
— Mrs. Jennifer P. Corbin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees

We would like to thank all of you who helped run the Shelter Project at Christ Church W4 in 2016/17 and all those who've volunteered for 2017/18.
